Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No. Nommi Collector is fully offline and account-free. Everything you add lives on your device. The only time it uses the internet is when you tap an external link (like an eBay sold-listings search), which opens in Safari.

Where are the official pull odds from?

They're the manufacturer's stated per-box ratios (for example, "1 in 72" for a secret). We show them for reference, labeled and cited — we never invent numbers. Real results vary by case and reseller, so a few characters we couldn't fully verify are marked with a confidence badge.

How do I add a photo of my own doll?

Open a character, tap Add my photo, and pick an image. It replaces the placeholder art for that character. Photos are stored only on your device and are never uploaded.

Why does the app use a generic plush drawing instead of the real character art?

To respect the artists and brand, the app ships no copyrighted character images. It uses a friendly generic plush placeholder — and your own photos, if you add them.

How does "Spot the Fake" work?

It's a quick guide to telling a genuine Nommi from a counterfeit: scanning the box QR, checking the 3-stage rotatable eyes and the feet, the matte soft-touch face finish, and the common "different logos = fake" myth (mixed Hi Toy / TOP TOY / Sure Fun logos are normal, not a fake).

How is "value" calculated?

You set your own estimate — the app never shows hyped or fake prices. For a real-world reference, it can open an eBay sold-listings search in your browser so you can see what pieces actually change hands for.

How do I back up or move my collection to a new phone?

Your collection is saved in the app's on-device storage and is included in an encrypted iCloud/iTunes device backup. Restoring that backup to a new iPhone brings your collection with it. A dedicated export is on our list — tell us if you'd like it sooner.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes. It's rated 4+, has no ads, no in-app purchases, no chat, and collects no data. It's a gentle, private way for younger collectors to track their plushies.
